CALL FOR PROPOSAL / PERFOMANCE SITE – SPECIFIC

Festival Movi|mentale in co-production with Danza Flux – movement research – announces a call for 3 site-specific performances to realize for the historical building of the cloister of San Domenico Maggiore in Naples during the days 6th and 7th of October 2012
Movi|mentale is conceived as a moment of reflection on the new languages of dance and performings arts and of their continuous changing. The Festival is also conceived as a base of artistic ideas, a place of the artistic contamination and the contemporary dramaturgical research. For the edition 2012, Movi|mentale will investigate the relationship between artist and the place in which it acts or lives, elaborating the concept of the space as “non-place”* in relationship/opposition to the concept of “place”.

CALL
The call is open up to 3 artist or groups in the field of dance, dance/theatre, video/performance. The length should be not more than 20 minutes. The dates are October the 6th and 7th
As a independent festival with low budget, the organization can cover a basic technical rider for the audio system and for the light system, the artists should use the default equipment of the building (other kind of requirement should be discussed with the festival organization). To be respectful of the building history, each performance should have only light and not cumbersome objects. The festival can cover also the accommodation expense and a minimum per diem.
The Festival will give to the participants, a mentor and a tutor to help them to promote their works to the Italian cultural circuit/

- Innovation and originality of the project
- Good relationship with the venue
- Ability to develop the project
A panel of experts coordinated by the festival organization will choose the participants. The decision made by the panel cannot be revieved.
How to apply
Projects must be sent by email to info@movimentale.it with the subject “application for site specific performance ” and must enclude the following attachments:
- The application form (write to info@movimentale.it ). You can add also drawings or other images that can describe the project.
- 1 page (A4) with the project description
- C.V. of the artist/group
- a link of the past project ( we accept also rehearsal video of the new project) .
- 1 pic on high definition (300 dpi).
