Born in the Appalachian mountains of Kentucky to a Scotch-Irish-Cherokee family, I spent the first 35 years of life pursuing the corporate path to happiness. Today, I am an transdisciplinary artist devoted to investigating the path of individual self-actualization both inside and outside conformist-based societal norms. Outsider positioning within the dominant cultural narratives, queer politics, neuro-architecture, pop-mythology and shamanism are major themes in my work. I am currently completing my MFA at University of Kentucky and collaborating on a new work of experimental theater with internationally acclaimed writer, performance artist and cultural icon of the New York Underground, Penny Arcade. http://www.theoedmonds.com
