The Human Tour 2013, a walking project recreating and expanding upon “Art Guy” Michael Galbreth’s 1987 project The Human Tour: An Anthropomorphic Route Through The City of Houston, has been undertaken by Carrie Schneider and Alex Tu.

From February 12 through March 10, there have been 10 walks tracing the human figure lined out in Galbreth’s 1987 map. The public has been encouraged to join on these walks and help document the project. I joined the walk on Tuesday, March 5 for a walk starting at Navigation and S. Jensen. For me, it served as an opportunity to slow down, look, walk and talk, and walk and not talk. I regularly walk within the neighborhood in which I live and enjoyed seeing a different neighborhood up close and slowed down.
