Opportunities: Radical Diva Grant (NYC only)

WHAT IS THE RADICAL DIVA GRANT?
The RDG is a bi-annual arts grant focused on giving financial support to contemporary queer artists who demonstrate unyielding dedication to their practice and social activism. The RDG is founded on the same modalities of Clump, which has been an outlet for highly aestheticized collective resistance. We at Clump aspire to create an environment in which artists and performers can express themselves and work towards the greater good of their community. The Radical Diva Grant is intended to expand upon this ideal, and to encourage our community to aspire to be strong, radical, and innovative.

WHAT IS A RADICAL DIVA?
A Radical Diva is someone who demonstrates a forward-thinking conscious art practice alongside a
stunningly visual body of work. A Radical Diva delivers power and strength in concept and execution, and propels minds forward with new processes. Radical Divas are future-consciousness holders and culture keepers; igniting discourse with their practice to break down barriers and binary systems. Radical Divas can be performers, designers, dancers, writers, sculptors, hackers, publishers, producers, painters, cooks, sex-workers, organizers, etc. Radical Divas are queer, not strictly in sexual orientation, but by whatever proximity their practice and principles illustrate resistance.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
RDG is looking for hard-working, dedicated artists who demonstrate a socially-conscious practice and have an ambitious but realistic goal in mind. Project proposals should fit within a completion time-frame of six months and include a breakdown of how the funding will make the project possible. Applicants are encouraged to submit HD images, video, sound, etc to help visually represent how the end product will be executed. We are looking for passion, strength, creativity, and social purpose.
