MPA-B Associate Curator Lala Nomada begins her three day-long curatorial project titled LATITUD 32ºN/55ºS. The coordinates refer to the highest (most northern) part of Mexico to the lowest (most southern) part of Chile, which means from the Bravo River to Cape Horn, exactly the extension where all Latitud 32°N/55°S participants come from! 12 artists, who have come especially to MPA-B to present a diverse take on contemporary Latin American performance art-making, will today navigate and appropriate the streets of Berlin with site-specific interventions in Mitte, Kreuzberg, Neukölln and Treptow-Köpenick. More performance art from Latin America, and more specifically from Mexico, will see today the participation of Berlin and Mexico City-based artists (connected via Skype) presenting a day-long performance project titled CROSSING THE LINE at KGB-44 kreative Gesellschaft. “Everything is crossing the line” is an expression for saying things are going too far. The line is also a way to call the Mexican-US border and on this performance day, the artists will be crossing borders using virtual realities and other media as an extension of their bodies, interacting in real time between Berlin and Mexico City.

Tonight, do not miss the continuation of Associate Curator Camilla Graff Junior’s curatorial project CROSSING CONTEXT NEUKÖLLN. Starting from 1930 at kunstraum t27, Vinyl Horror and Terror (DK) will present IT MUST BE MY IMAGINATION will deconstruct and reconstruct turntables and vinyl records, resulting in amazingly detailed and well-executed noise compositions, performances and kinetic installations. This will be followed by OSWAVLDO’S BAR during which Bailly Blo and Layla Torres Mollerup (DK) will challenge the audience to investigate issues of prejudice from our society, with an interactive performing cocktail bar.
