GARBAGE WORLD 7 – NEVER NEVER NOTHING

Garbage World 7 is a month long series of installations and performances at the gallery LITTLE BERLIN in PHILADELPHIA, PA. Opening on First Friday, July 5th, will be a performance object installation of performers’ costumes, props, notes (etc.) from those who participated in Garbage Worlds: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. This will fill the space for a week and will be taken down after Sunday, the 14th. There will be open hours at various times for viewings of the installation, talks, and socials. On July 19 through 21st through, CHICAGO artist SOFIA MORENO, will debut P O R N A G A I N vol. 2: CYBERNYMPH. There will be an installation with her artwork on display as well as a video screening and DJ on opening night. LITTLE BERLIN will then make way for the official performance event GARBAGE WORLD 7 – NEVER NOTHING NOW with performers from PHILADELPHIA and CHICAGO to be announced.

Artists residing in PENNSYLVANIA, MARYLAND, NEW YORK, and NEW JERSEY are invited to participate in the performance event on July 26 and 27. There is an open call for performers. “Anything goes”, except there is a 20 minute maximum duration in anticipation of the myriad performances to come. Proposal are due June 15. Caden Manson is a director, media artist, and teacher. He is co-founder of the media ensemble bigartgroup.com and network, blog, and publisher, contemporaryperformance.com. He has co-created, directed, video- and set designed 18 Big Art Group productions. Manson has shown video installations in Austria, Germany, NYC, and Portland; performed PAIN KILLER in Berlin, Singapore and Vietnam; Taught in Berlin, Rome, Paris, Montreal, NYC, and Bern; the ensemble has been co-produced by the Vienna Festival, Festival d’Automne a Paris, Hebbel Am Ufer, Rome’s La Vie de Festival, PS122, and Wexner Center for The Arts. Caden is a 2001 Foundation For Contemporary Art Fellow, is a 2002 Pew Fellow and a 2011 MacDowell Fellow. Writing has been published in PAJ, Theater Magazine, and Theater der Zeit. Caden is currently an associate professor and graduate directing option coordinator of The John Wells Directing Program at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama.
