Open Call for Resident Artists-Spontaneous Combustion Festival

Spontaneous Combustion is a yearly festival of dance and performance happening in various outdoor and indoor locations in Hackney Wick and Bethnal Green. For this year’s Spontaneous Combustion residency, we invite artists working across dance, live art and contemporary theatre to collaborate with a digital artist to create a mobile app for the festival.
Resident artists will have the opportunity to develop a current or previous piece of work to interact with audiences’ mobile devices. Artists’ own videos, music or visuals can be added to the app. Two days of rehearsal space in arebyte gallery per group/artist are offered as part of the residency.
The festival is supported by arebyte, a nonprofit organisation based in Hackney Wick producing cross-disciplinary projects in Performance and New Media art.
