Failure’s Island

Failure’s Island is an open and free public meeting which will take place at one of the starting points of 14th St during Art in Odd Places 2014:FREE. Here, a discussion about the idea of ‘failure’ will be engaged by active participants.

This action will be led by K and Raúl Hott each day of the festival at 4pm . The artists will lead a public gathering at the center of the Greenstreet’s triangle, where 14th St starts and intersects with 10th Ave and The High Line. Everybody is invited to participate and join the discussion in this temporary occupation. It is an attempt to re-think values in crisis such as place, democracy and public. There will be no distribution or use of props, and no alteration to the Greenstreet’s triangle. The artists will suggest the shape of an informal talk and will give complete control to the audience. This event is 100% participatory and the outcome is unexpected.

Where: The center of the Greenstreet’s triangle, where 14th St starts and intersects with 10th Ave and The High Line.

When: October 9-12 2014 During AiOP NYC 2014:FREE
