In 2017 Graner launches an open call for residency projects. This call addresses artists, local or international groups who work in the fields of dance and performance. They may be developing a piece or an investigation process, with a focus on choreography, body or movement.

The 2017 call for residency focuses on two modalities: investigation and creation.

The proposal can be submitted until the 4th of December. On the 14th of December the selected projects will be announced on the websites and on their social networks.

Graner is a place of creation and research in the eld of body language and movement. It is part of the Creation Industries program of Barcelona City hall and it is managed by Mercat de Les Flors, in collaboration with Asociación de Profesionales de Danza de Cataluña (APDC) and Aso- ciación de Compañías Profesionales de Danza de Cataluña (ACPDC). El Graner acts following different streams of work in order to leave a mark in the creative fabric from many aspects: creation, internationalization, thinking, education and projects realized for the citizens. Therefo- re it welcomes artists in residency, it develops projects of artistic cooperation and educational activities with other cultural organizations and it also promotes the integration of the space in the neighborhood, among other objectives.

The commission in charge of the selection process will be made of 5 members: a member appointed by APDC, a member appointed by ACPDC, two local and international experts of visual arts and the coordinator of Graner.

The selection criteria are: the artistic coherence of the proposal; the interest of the investigation related to visual arts and its level of relation with other thoughts and art forms; the level of dialo- gue established with the local context, either for the research object or for the implied entities.

Documents to be submitted:

-A paper of maximum 5 pages with the explication of the initiative and the core issues of the work, the number of collaborators and the supporting organizations (if applicable), and a short CV of the people taking part in the project.
-Artist/group/company CV, including links to a selection of videos (3 creation or investigation works).

-Specify the residency modality you are applying for, and also the preferred space in case the application is made for the creation modality (modality B).
-A working schedule (the working stages at Graner can be divided into blocks of minimum 1 week throughout the year 2017).

The artists will bene t from:

-Project accompaniment, visibility and promotion in national and international exhibition platforms. -Exclusive 24-hours access studio.
-Relax rooms (according to the availability of the center).
-Bikes for non-residents, according to the availability.

-Computer for video editing, camera (foto and video) and a tripod. -Photocopies and printing services.
-Discounts on the shows of Mercat de Les Flors throughout the year 2017.


A1 – Interactions

For artists of any discipline, thinkers and researchers whose main objective has body, dance or movement as core point of the investigation, with a connection or interest in the local context or on the territory, namely La Marina – Zona Franca neighborhood, where Graner is located. Graner offers studio P as working space, minimum two weeks and maximum two months, and an economic contribution of 600€ (tax not included).

Available residencies: 2

For proposals that investigate methodologies linked to artistic practice, where exchange and group works are part of the research.
Graner offers studio M or MT as working spaces for a period of maximum a month, according to the availability, and an economic contribution of 2.000€ (tax not included).

Available residencies: 1

For creation proposals which are still in a starting point or pre-project stage.
El Graner offers a working space according to the necessity of the project for maximum a month and an economic contribution of 600€ (tax not included).
Available residencies: 2


Addressed to creation projects that are at the beginning or in an intermediate stage and need a space to be developed and/or for technical residency. The condition and the available equip- ment during the technical residency will be agreed with the hosting organization.

Following the directives for the creation centers of the city, this kind of venues in this kind of mo- dality are subject to the invoicing of indirect bills which come from its usage. The agreed public prices are the following (tax included):

  • –  Studio MT and M / 62.5€ per week
