Opportunities: Open Call – The Festival Of The Impossible (San Francisco, CA, USA) Deadline – 02/23/2018

Open Call The Festival of the Impossible (San Francisco, CA, USA) June 8-10, 2018
Deadline: 02/23/2018
Online Application: https://www.festivaloftheimpossible.com/
Fee to Apply: FREE

Description Of Opportunity:

The Festival of the Impossible will be a three day event celebrating artists pushing past the boundaries of reality and inspiring us with their visions.

They want to support a collection of creative and innovated makers working across a wide range of artistic media – from oil on canvas to augmented reality. The goal is to showcase new visual and narrative ideas that are considered “impossible.”

The Festival is seeking to work with artists in a wide range of artistic media: performance, sound, sculpture, video, augmented reality, virtual reality, painting, drawing, and socially engaged work. A goal of the festival is to foster a diverse platform of ideas and media – ultimately showcasing new visual and narrative experiences that are previously “impossible”. They are interested in activation and aim to present an experience for the viewer that will inspire.

How To Apply:
Artists are asked to submit project proposals for review. Accepted projects will be awarded a stipend of $2,500. Additional project costs will be covered on an as needed basis. At this time they can not pay for travel.

They’re looking for artists to push the boundaries and manifest something truly beautiful, whimsical and inspiring for the audience. Our goal is to create a level of engagement and immersion that surpasses a conventional art exhibition. Applications Deadline is Feb. 23rd 2018

Festival Format – June 8th, 9th and 10th, 2018

The term “festival” is used to broaden the definition of our art presentation. The intent is to marry art and technology in an exciting display and we invite artists to challenge their ideas and skills while at the same time giving careful consideration to the audience.

They will be using Galleries 106, 107, 200 and the main atrium space in Minnesota Street Project.

This project is created, designed and overseen by three contemporary artists. Send questions about the call for artists to Joyce (at) festivaloftheimpossible.com
