Opportunities: ArtEZ Master of Theatre Practices

ARTEZ MASTER OF THEATRE PRACTICES
EXTRA CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
Deadline for Applications: Thursday, 14th June

Are you interested in developing your artistic practice through discourse, experimentation and feedback?

Do you see research as a practice that enriches and sharpens your art making?

Do you wish being part of an international group of artists in dialogue with the contemporary field of the performing arts?

We welcome applications from practitioners in the fields of dance and theatre seeking to deepen their artistic practices through research, experimentation and feedback.

The ArtEZ Master of Theatre Practices is a programme for artists who wonder, for inventors of problems and question-makers, who look for expanded ways of acting, of moving and being moved in the performing arts and in the world.

The ArtEZ Master of Theatre Practices is a practice-as-research programme working with practitioners who employ experimentation, research and theory to expand their theatre and dance practices. We see the individual question of a student to have the potential to resonate in the world, and encourage it’s critical development over the two years of the programme.

Rethinking how we act with new ecologies of co-presence and participation, the ArtEZ Master of Theatre Practices is committed to the empowerment of the professional practices of artists through research, experimentation and feedback. Participants design the trajectory of research in close dialogue with a team of experienced tutors and mentors, and in contact with inspiring guests from an international network in the performing arts.

We welcome applications from:

  • Practitioners who hold a BA in Theatre or Dance, or associated fields, and aim at developing their artistic experience and professional expertise.
  • Students who are able to self-organize and sustain autonomous periods of work as well as welcome collaboration, being open to work with and learn from peers.
  • Artists with a curiosity for learning, a spirit of experimentation, and an ambition to grow, who are committed to art-making as a life-long practice in dialogue with peers and audiences.

Deadline for Applications: Thursday, 14th June

The Master of Theatre Practices is a member of the ArtEZ Graduate School, an experimental, de-disciplined, and collaborative collective shaped by knowledge and research that examines the forms, formats, and function of design and arts practices. Alongside their work within specific courses of study, students, teachers and researchers of the Graduate School are encouraged to devise and deliver seminars, workshops and exchanges that are open to the ArtEZ community, wider artistic and academic fields and the public.
