Description Of Opportunity:

Submissions should be solo or duet performances lasting 8 to 13 minutes. Please read the
guidelines carefully before applying.

The “Selection” performance will feature 12 submissions. Each work will be presented once, with
the organizer deciding the dates and sequence of the performances.

5. Applicant Conditions
(1) No restrictions on dance genre.
(2) Open to all nationalities.
(3) Works can be solo or duets with 1 to 2 performers. Choreographers may perform
their own works.
(4) Works must be 8 to 13 minutes long.
(5) Full work videos can be rehearsal or performance footage and can be edited.
Please edit your videos to clearly present the length and content of the live
performance. Do not use special effects.
(6) There is no limit to the number of works that can be submitted by the same
applicant.
(7) Selected international works will be responsible for their own visa applications to
enter Taiwan.
(8) There is no rehearsal or performance fee for selected works.
(9) It is expected that 12 works will be selected from this call for submissions to
participate in the “Selection” performance of the 6th Stray Birds Dance Platform.
Each selected work will be performed once. The performance order and dates will
be arranged by the organizer in coordination with the selected participants.
(10) Each work will have 45 minutes of technical rehearsal. The organizer reserves
the right to adjust the actual length of time.
(11) If selected works require the use of props or stage installations during the
performance, the performers will be responsible for their own setup and removal.
(12) Selected works must apply for and obtain the necessary licenses for public
performance music rights and any related design copyrights.
(13) Choreographers and dancers are obligated to participate fully and free of charge
in the performances, lighting rehearsals, and award ceremony.
(14) Choreographers and dancers must cooperate with the organizer to provide
production stills, images, footage, and text materials, and agree to their free use for
publicity in print and digital media.
(15) Choreographers and dancers must agree to participate free of charge in
interviews, sponsor meetings, and video and photo shoots, and for the materials to
be used for publicity in print and digital media.
(16) The awarding authority reserves the right to select the final works. If the awarding
authority deems no suitable works for this performance, they may choose not to
present awards.
(17) Award winners must negotiate with the awarding authority on the terms and
conditions of their subsequent invitations.
(18) The organizer reserves the right to modify, change, interpret, and cancel the
event. Any changes will be announced on the organizer’s social media platforms
without further notice. Please pay close attention.
(19) If the awarding authority is unable to attend the performance in person due to
severe viral pneumonia (COVID-19) or other force majeure factors, the organizer will
announce the results separately.

Awards
(1) MASDANZA (Spain): Selected works will be invited to participate in the 2025 MASDANZA
Dance Festival.
(2) Stray Birds Dance Platform (Taiwan): Selected choreographers will be invited to perform
at the 7th Stray Birds Dance Platform “Showcase” in 2025.
(3) Stray Birds Dance Platform Audience Award (Taiwan)
(4) New Dance for Asia (South Korea): Selected works will be invited to participate in the
2025 New Dance for Asia Art Festival.
(5) International Performing Arts Project (iPAP) (South Korea): Selected works will be
invited to participate in one of the festivals organized by iPAP, including the Seoul & Jeju
International Improvisation Dance Festival, public theater’s dance program, and
International Comic Dance Festival.
(6) SAI Festival (Japan): Selected works will be invited to participate in the 2025 SAI Festival.
(7) Odoru Akita(Japan): Selected works will be invited to participate in the Odoru Akita
(8) Hong Kong Dance Exchange (Hong Kong): Selected works will be invited to participate
in the 2026 Hong Kong Dance Exchange.
*Any new collaborative awards this year will be announced separately.
7. Stray Birds Dance Platform Provides:
(1) Lighting and sound technical support.
(2) Meal subsidies for working days.
(3) Transportation subsidies: For Taiwanese applicants (choreographers and dancers) residing
outside Taipei City and New Taipei City, a round-trip transportation subsidy will be provided
for travel from their location to Taipei City during the production week (based on Taiwan
Railway Tze-Chiang Limited Express pricing). For international works, round-trip
transportation from the airport to the hotel will be provided.
(4) Accommodation subsidies: Accommodation will be provided for choreographers and
dancers from international works and Taiwanese applicants (choreographers and dancers)
residing outside of Taipei City and New Taipei City. Accommodation for working days
(including breakfast) will be arranged by the organizer.
(5) Photography and performance recording.
(6) Marketing and promotion.
