We welcome disciplinary diversity: visual/ installation, performance, time-based media, virtual/gaming work, online-IRL hybrids, and others. RU and Galapagos art space is proud to announce: Natural Selection: artists in residence a.i.r. Switzerland RU and Galapagos has partnered with IAAB, the International Exchange and Studio Program of the Canton of Basel, Switzerland, to each year offer an artist from New York City the opportunity to spend six months near Basel, in the Swiss countryside town of Riehen. In turn, RU supports a Swiss artist in NYC for 6 months. The studio is situated in one of the old estate buildings on the “Berowergut”, just next door to the Beyeler Foundation. When the barns located on the “Berowergut” have been renovated and the Kunst Raum Riehen has been installed, the old coach house at the back was converted into a two-storey live-in studio. Through the HERE Artist Residency Program, HERE commissions and develops new hybrid works over a 1- to 3-year period. As part of the HERE community of artists and audiences, their residents show works-in-progress, develop workshop productions, and mount full–scale productions. Through their residency programs, HERE seeks to not only grow innovative artistic work, but also give artists the awareness and skills—in areas such as audience relations, budgeting, grantwriting, and touring—they need to continue to grow their careers. NARS Foundation International Artist Residency Program (NYC) Application deadline: October 4, 2013 How to Apply The NARS Foundation offers a residency program that supports emerging and mid-career artists as well as artists with established national and/or international reputations for whom a change of environment may offer refreshment and inspiration. The program offers full and partial residential fellowships for a minimum of one month and up to twelve months. The number of awards and the amount may vary depending on sponsorship available at the time of application. The artists-in-residence are offered a workspace that range in size from 200sq. ft. to 400sq. ft. with Wi-Fi connections and 24/7 access.
