In Performance: Houston Fringe Festival (Houston, TX, USA)

Loose Ends by ChinaCat Dance (Houston, TX)

The Houston Fringe Festival is an annual performing arts festival presented by FrenetiCore in Houston’s East End. This year’s festival takes place over three weekends August 30 – September 15, 2012 at three different performance venues, offering the best independent theatre, film, dance, music and visual arts from Houston area artists and beyond.

The 2012 Fringe welcomes performers from all over Texas and the United States. Featuring disciplines ranging from puppetry and burlesque to drama and contemporary dance. Experimental art veterans perform alongside daring newcomers, with each piece presented between 15-60 minutes in length.

Look out for more information about upcoming Fringe Workshops taught by performers, after parties, visual arts exhibits and the ‘Anything Goes’ Weekend September 14-15: two fast-paced, decidedly chaotic evenings featuring Houston’s best performance artists.

Tickets are $10 per indivdual show or save with 5 & 10 performance packs ($40/$70) and an unlimited all-access Fringe pass for only $85. A portion of proceeds from each all-access pass sold will benefit FrenetiKids, a free after-school dance & theatre program for Houston’s East End neighborhood youth. Purchase tickets at
