In collaboration with the Kunsthalle am Hamburger Platz, Weissensee Kunsthochschule Berlin, WATCHING A CAT WATCHING A MOUSE HOLE is a three week-long project curated by Patrycja German, Prof. Thaddäus Hüppi – lab for tomorrow. Today 16 students and young graduates from Weissensee Kunsthochschule Berlin, UdK Berlin and several other art schools all over Germany will work together on a series of site-specific performances taking place at the Kunsthalle am Hamburger Platz and its neighbourhood in Weissensee. The programme starts at 17:00 and finishes at 23:00. The programme will continue in the next few weeks with an exhibition and a series of lectures. The Surrealist Taxi is back and with a performing passenger!The BALLAD OF SKINNY LATTES AND VINTAGE CLOTHING is a solo performance installation, accompanied by a driver, navigator and occasional passengers. Its subject is globalisation and the effect on our high streets. “The Manifesto of the Revolutionary Middle Classes” will serve as our central theme as we take an aleatoric journey through Berlin chronicling the rise of the middle classes as they invade the city with fair-trade coffee and chi-chi retro clothes.
