For any members who can get to Romania in June …

The Sibiu International Theatre Festival is an annual event hosting the world’s prime performing arts. I’ve been attending this festival for a few years and now that I’m based in Australia it’s become something of a European pilgrimage. The festival hosts some truly wonderful work and Sibiu itself is an amazing place to visit. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

The festival is the third largest in the world in terms of its audience, which reaches around 60.000 a day, and the number of countries involved. Moreover, the festival is the third worldwide concerning its 350 events and 60 venues.

Besides art events, the festival features several projects, seminars and colloquiums, aiming to stimulate dialogue between its visitors.

This year, the festival runs from June 7th – 16th. Information can be found on the official website: http://www.sibfest.ro/
