Paddle8 Online Art Auction
Organized by the Abrons Arts Center’s curator-in-residence Karen Archey, the Abrons first benefit auction will go live on Paddle8 on October 1st and will benefit the Abrons’ rapidly evolving visual art exhibition and residency programs. The auction will feature emerging and established New York artists, and those affiliated with the organization’s international exhibition program, such as Dutch artist Harm van den Dorpel and the London-based collective LuckyPDF. Most donating artists have a strong tie to the vibrant arts community in the Lower East Side–from Moyra Davey, who was one of the founding members of the now-historic Orchard Gallery (2005-2008) to the emerging artist Carlos Reyes, who lives and works blocks from Abrons. The auction art works will be on view in the Abrons galleries during the Uptown Downtown benefit on Monday, October 14th.
