LUCKY TRIMMER seeks Short Pieces for its Special Edition “The Wall”

LUCKY TRIMMER Special Edition “The Wall”

BERLIN – NEW YORK – NICOSIA – JERUSALEM – BUDAPEST

CALL OPEN till MAY 1st 2014

2014 is a year to remember! LUCKY TRIMMER will be celebrating its 10th birthday. This outstanding historical event coincides with yet another one: the 25th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall. To immortalise this conjuncture, LUCKY TRIMMER will curate a special program entitled “The Wall”. We seek excellent and original pieces related to your personal experiences and ideas about the Berlin Wall, its Fall and/or the individual and global impact on our current understanding of topics such as separation, belonging, identity or integration. Possible aspects we would like to address are: Still existing differences between East and West Germany, the European blockade against refugees, the ideological wall between North and South Korea, the Green Line in Nicosia, the effects of walls and settlement projects in Israel and Palestine, among others.

LUCKY TRIMMER showcases a selection of short performances in bite-sized chunks; no more than 10 minutes each. We spotlight both emerging and established performing artists who ́s work captures our hearts and minds; delivering pieces that disturb us, delight us, steal our breath, provoke and blaze new trails. LUCKY TRIMMER presents a multi-faceted vision of what contemporary dance is today combining artistical excellence with the lightness of entertainment.
