OPEN CALL – 10 DRAMATURGOS EN LA PLAZA PUBLICA (Bologna, Italy) 28th – 31st May 2019
Deadline: 30th April 2019
Fee to Participate or Apply: 200 €
Description Of Opportunity:
The OPEN CALL for 10 Dramaturgos en la plaza publica, the dramaturgy workshop directed by Sergio Blanco and addressed to ten playwrights and writers will close on 30th April 2019.
The workshop, taking place from 28th to 31st May 2019 in Bologna, is a four-day dramaturgical intervention coordinated, articulated and directed by Sergio Blanco.
Through the workshop the playwrights will make visible, and then public, the private and intimate process of writing, returning to the playwright its ancient function in direct contact with the scene and with the Polis. The ten playwrights who will take part in the workshop with the international master will directly write their texts in contact with the audience, and then read them chorally, led by the director and playwright Sergio Blanco, accompanied by video and sound interventions.
The project is divided into two phases:
1. A three-day workshop of dramaturgy, where ten selected playwrights will work together with Blanco on various writing ideas about the city of Bologna.
2. A final outcome that will consist of a public and collective writing session, at night and outdoors, in a central square of the city, accompanied by visual and sound interventions. For an hour, the ten playwrights will produce several texts live and for the next hour they will read some of them in a choral reading, directed by Blanco.
How To Apply:
To participate it is necessary to fill in the online application form, enclosing a curriculum vitae and a motivational letter.
The selected participants must give full availability to participate in all the phases of the workshop and confirm their registration by paying a participation fee of € 200,00.
