About the Artist Residency Germany

The ZKM Rauschenberg Residencies are offered by the Department of Artistic Research & Development at ZKM | Hertzlab in collaboration with the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation.

The residency focuses on projects that connect performative art and technology, with openness to a wide range of formats including dance, performance, spoken or musical theater, physical or object theater, and hybrid forms.

What Is Offered

Who Should Apply

“You must have valid health insurance or international health insurance for Germany at the start of the residency.”

“There are three places available for three individuals. Team applications are possible in principle, but the ZKM cannot cover additional accommodation or travel costs.”

Application requirements include:

  • Portfolio of relevant digital theater or interactive performative works from the last 5 years
  • Concept (maximum 2 DIN A4 pages) including project description, technological approach, schedule, and cost plan
