Villa Filanda Antonini has opened applications for a Fully Funded Italy Residency, VFA Sonic Connections, in Villorba, Treviso, Italy. The 2027 Sonic Connections residency will select up to four participants for a one-month residency from March 1 to March 31, 2027. The program supports site-specific sonic research, experimental music, sound art, and performance projects developed in response to the former silk mill and warehouse spaces of Villa Filanda Antonini. Support includes accommodation, travel allowance, a €1,000 stipend, mentoring, and production support determined case by case.

About VFA Sonic Connections
Villa Filanda Antonini is an artist residency in Villorba, Treviso, Italy, established in 2021 and supported by the Arper Feltrin Foundation. The residency supports transdisciplinary dialogue among art, design, and architecture, with projects connected to place, community, heritage, ecology, labor, and post-industrial transformation. The program provides time, studio space, accommodation, and a stipend for research-based artistic development.
The VFA Sonic Connections residency is focused on experimental music, sound art, performance, and collective sonic experience. Residents will develop site-specific projects connected to VFA’s former industrial warehouse. The call asks artists to consider how architecture, acoustic space, landscape, and local context shape sonic creation. The residency includes research, production, open studios, listening sessions, live performance, and contribution to a sonic archive.
