The Houston Fringe Festival is now accepting applications for 2013! The Houston Fringe Festival is a five-day event in which performers and companies from any city or country present original artistic work at participating venues in Houston’s East End. The annual festival features over 100 companies and individual artists each year, showcasing talent from Houston and beyond. The Houston Fringe supports both emerging and established performing and visual arts. Virtually any type of theater, dance, film, and musical performance is encouraged to apply. All proposed pieces should adhere to the mission of the Houston Fringe: To present daring and conceptually challenging performances that fit outside the mainstream of theater, music, film and dance performed in the Houston area. The Houston Fringe Festival is an annual performing arts festival presented by FrenetiCore in Houston’s East End. This year’s festival takes place over three weekends August 30 – September 15, 2012 at three different performance venues, offering the best independent theatre, film, dance, music and visual arts from Houston area artists and beyond. The 2012 Fringe welcomes performers from all over Texas and the United States. Featuring disciplines ranging from puppetry and burlesque to drama and contemporary dance. Experimental art veterans perform alongside daring newcomers, with each piece presented between 15-60 minutes in length.
