ABOUT
The Contemporary Performing Arts Research Residency returns for its third edition, welcoming artistic research proposals that interrogate the theme “This Time.” This program invites inquiries that confront contemporary conditions—both conceptually and methodologically—through the lens of performance.
The theme This Time explores:
-
Living and acting in the present moment
-
The urgency and repetition of “trying again”
-
The tension between impermanence and historical weight
-
“Doing” as a gesture of reorientation or repair
Hosted in Singapore between April and June 2026, the residency provides a reflective platform for artists and researchers to engage performance as a method of deep investigation.
WHO SHOULD APPLY
-
Artists, researchers, and practitioners working across contemporary performing arts
-
Applicants exploring performance as research or practice-led inquiry
-
Proposals may address personal, social, or political issues through performativity
