About the Art + Technology Grant
The Art + Technology Lab at LACMA describes itself as a “safe-to-fail” rapid prototyping environment where finished artworks are deliberately deemphasized in favor of testing ideas at the edge of art and technology. The program supports projects that explore artistic applications of new tools and ideas related to technology and culture.
In 2026, three to five projects will be selected through the open call, with grants open to individuals and collectives anywhere in the world. In addition to financial support of up to $50,000 per project, recipients may receive mentorship, coaching, advice, and exposure to technologies in development through the Lab’s partner network.
