Who Should Apply
Eligible individual practitioners explicitly include artists, curators, writers, independent researchers, critics, educators, activists, and other cultural practitioners. Registered non-profit organizations may apply for eligible projects involving development or presentation. Individuals and collectives may apply for research-driven projects that do not culminate in the production or presentation of a specific work. There is no age restriction. Applicants currently enrolled in a degree-granting high school, undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral program are ineligible. Previous Phenomenon Grant recipients cannot apply again.
Applicants may be based outside Greece. Their proposed project must remain grounded in Greece and demonstrate sustained engagement with its local context. Projects may include long-term collaborations, research, ongoing relationships with communities or contexts, and translocal relationships connected meaningfully to Greece.
Applicants must already have an existing bank account in a Greek bank before applying. The account must be linked to the organization, individual applicant, or responsible project leader of a collective. The program states that an application submitted without a Greek bank account will not be considered valid.
