Biennale Danza 2027

La Biennale di Venezia is accepting proposals from international choreographers and dance companies for an original choreographic creation to premiere at Biennale Danza 2027 in Venice. The selected project will receive up to €30,000 toward production, with additional support for the Venice premiere.

Overview

The Dance Department of La Biennale di Venezia runs a multi-year program supporting the production or co-production of new works by international choreographers and dance companies.

Applicants must propose an original choreographic project that has never premiered either in studio or full form. Projects may range from solos to ensemble compositions.

The selected work will make its world premiere as part of Biennale Danza 2027. The 21st International Festival of Contemporary Dance will take place July 15–31, 2027 in Venice.

Support

La Biennale di Venezia will support the selected project with a contribution of up to €30,000. The project will need to be adapted for the Biennale venues.

La Biennale will also contribute to:

  • Artistic fee for the Venice debut
  • Travel and accommodation expenses for the choreographer or company for the Venice debut
  • Expenses related to the technical rider for the Venice debut

After selection, La Biennale will request a provisional project budget.

Technical and logistical requirements and any props related to the final project must be agreed upon with the La Biennale technical and production team eight weeks before the premiere.
