SEQUEL, a collaboration between choreographer Jonah Bokaer and video installation artist Irit Batsry, will receive its world premiere at CPR – Center for Performance Research, December 8-11.
An epic 60-minute solo, created and performed by Bokaer after two years of work with Batsry, SEQUEL is a deeply meditative three-part work inspired by “The Ulysses Syndrome”, a term used to describe constant travel, and longing for one’s homeland. Born of Mediterranean descent, and a native of Ithaca (NY), the theme of Ulysses ricochets playfully close to autobiographical material for Bokaer, who travels nearly 30 weeks annually.
