Messmer is a new collaboration between American Choreographer Jeremy Wade and French Sound Artist Jassem Hindi exploring the entraining and chaotic potential of the erotic body. The piece acts as a kind of electrically charged service to process, abstract and reciprocate the effects of two hypersensitive bodies engaged in the act of touch. Hindi performs with amplified objects and analogue tape machines in concert to Wades nervous celebration with a harlequin pile of trash. Through empathy and attunement the two begin to cultivate a state of psychic interrelatedness. “Messmer” is an erotic conduit, a system that acts as a channel or intermediary station for the transmission of the sensual.
