Created for the final ICE FACTORY at the New Ohio (which is closing at the end of the festival) by PPL
PPL‘s latest work, “On the Cranial Nerves of Barbarians II: A Carp Sanctuary,” is scheduled for a four-day run from July 12th to the 15th at the New Ohio Theatre. This event is part of the final ICE FACTORY series at the venue. The creators of the show, a mix of artists and performers including Noah Ortega, Mia Destiny, 3dwardsharp, Thea Little, Jessica Bathurst, Irina Varina, and Jess Applebaum, describe the performance as an experimental blend of noise, dance, documentary, and theory.
The show begins at 7pm, with pre-show processual scores starting at 6:30pm. During the performance, audiences can expect explorations of brain, mind, and societal models, references to Georg Büchner, and performances involving song and dance. Elements of carp ecology, justice, and care also weave into the show’s narrative. The performance includes loud sounds; earplugs are available, and audience members can move freely in and out of the theater.
The New Ohio Theatre is ADA compliant and wheelchair accessible. All video content has closed captioning, and the full libretto is accessible via QR code during the show. For additional details, reach out to [email protected]. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream is available on July 13th. Tickets can be purchased here.
